Beautiful veils for your big day

How to choose and to wear the veil beautifully in your big day? Here are some tips about choosing and wearing veils:
Firstly, the length of the veil needs to match with that of your wedding dress.
If you choose a floor length wedding dress, you could wear a veil of 9-13 feet which will make your dress much royal and formal. But if you have chosen a long train dress, you’d better not choose a veil that is too long. Usually, long train dresses will be embellished from waist and hips to the bottom. Thus, a long veil will cover these embellishments. You could choose a veil just above your waist.

Secondly, veils of one layer and multiple layers have different effects.
These two style veils could present different feelings. Short, multiple layers veils are suitable for lovely and petite brides and could make their faces smaller visually. But for full brides, these will only make their top too big.
Single layer veils are almost suitable for every bride. And what’s more, this kind of veils could produce a visual effect of lengthening brides’ full bodies.
You also need to take your hair style into consideration when you are choosing veils. You’d better choose a concise veil to match with a complicated hair style. Otherwise, you could wear a quite delicate veil and let it be the visual focus.
Thirdly, the position wearing the veil should match with your hair style and your figure.
How could you wear a veil rightly? You need to wear it according to your hair style and your figure. If you are a little short, you’d better not wear the veil in a too low position which will make you shorter visually.
If you just like your hair hanging down naturally, you should wear the veil on the top of your head, which could create a magical atmosphere of a princess.
Remembering these basic tips of choosing and wearing veils, you could make the big day much more perfect.

Principles of wearing and matching wedding wraps

wedding wraps
Five ways to wear wraps:
Hanging wraps down.
This is the most classic, common and tremendous way to wear wraps. People let two ends of wraps symmetrically hang on shoulders and flow down naturally in front of chest.
Buttoning wraps.
People will let wraps round over shoulders and fold the ends in front of chest and then stitch a delicate brooch. This way is a little formal. You could also pull the joint to one shoulder or the back, which will make you more charming and show your own personality.
Wrapping wraps.
You could wear large square or wide long wraps or wraps with slits in this way. Just let wraps rounding around your shoulders and arms and it could present the feelings of ease, satisfactory and quietness.
Wearing wraps like capes.
You could wear large or semicircular wraps in this way. It will give others romantic feelings which could be produced with large square or wide long wraps. But you’d better not choose any wraps made of heavy fabrics.
Creative ways to wear wraps.
You could dress up with your imagination. You could make a tie, pin some flowers into wraps or just wear them aggressively.
Tips of matching wraps:
  1. Wraps will match better with strapless or spaghetti straps wedding dresses. They’d better be made of the same fabrics which can present the better matching effects.
  2. If wedding dresses are complicated, you need a simple wrap to match with it. Otherwise, you could wear a luxurious wrap.
  3. It could make brides more elegant and graceful when new prom dresses match with white or cream-colored wraps. While it could lengthen the proportions of brides figures if they choose some designed wraps.
  4. You need to choose wraps according to your figures: petite brides could choose wraps in pink and of high deflection; while tall brides should choose ones in heavy colors and of soft fabrics.

A dress for Sarah the wedding guest virgin

wedding dresses
"Dear Outblush, One of my closest friends from college is getting married in August (Poughkeepsie, NY) and this is my first wedding that I will be attending since I was 7 and I'm completely at a loss as to what would be appropriate! I've scoured the malls since May and I can't seem to find anything! The ceremony is going to be at 3pm with a reception that will go into the night so I'll need something that can be worn both during the day and night. The invitation did not mention a specific dress code, but knowing Rebecca it definitely is not black or white tie. I'd like to buy something that I'll be able to wear again and if it can make my former college boyfriend's jaw drop while looking like Grace Kelly all the better!
Here's the skinny:
1. I'm 5'2" (33-24-33) and usually a 0 or 2 depending on brand sizing
2. Maximum budget: $150 (maybe $200 if it's a classic investment)
3. I'd like something that would be flattering to my shape and about knee length. Probably something that would define my waist; preferably not strapless, but I won't rule it out; maybe something with a v-neck? I definitely do not want something black, brown, navy, or extremely dark. I fell in love with this dress's watercolor floral pattern, but I can't find it in my size. My old roommates used to tell me that my style is classic and girly. I shop at J. crew and Kate Spade the most often.
I know this is super last minute, but if you could help I'd be over the moon! Thanks again. "
Dearest Sarah! Carlota here and I'd love to help you! Weddings are awesome and I'm so excited you want to wear color! You'll actually stand out in the sea of black at the reception. And all of these styles will transition very well from ceremony to reception. Since you loved a watercolor dress, I've chosen a few dresses with pretty watercolor prints in all different silhouettes as well as other blue prom dresses. Hope this helps! And have a great time at the wedding!

Dorothy M's Wedding Dress In Uk

"Hi Outblush Staff!! I am writing to see if you can help me out with my wedding dress woes! I am a curvier woman with a bigger bust (I am a size 12, size Large in shirts, etc. and a 36DD) and do NOT want a wedding dress that is strapless. As you know, a majority of the dresses out there today are strapless. I want a different neckline for my wedding, either one-strap with flowers along it (think Maggie Sottero Destinations collection) or a beautiful sweetheart or capsleeved dress. Oh, and one more slight problem... I am trying to keep it under $1,000.00. Do you think you can help me find the perfect dress for my big day? Thank you so much! Yours, Dorothy"
Aw, yay, we love doing these wedding dresses ones! Here are eight gowns in the romantic, destination-y style of the Maggie Sottero Destinations collection, all under $1000. When ordering a gown online, have a reputable tailor in mind and don't forget to order a size or two higher than you normally would: formal gowns tend to run small, and it's way easier to take in a dress than let it out. Congratulations on your wedding, Dorothy! Here's to a lifetime of happiness with your honey!

Marriage Study Looks At Why Working-Class Americans Aren't Tying The Knot

marriage study
Recently, we've been hearing that fewer and fewer Americans are tying the knot, with the U.S. marriage rate at its lowest point in more than a century. Now, a new study looks at why one group of Americans -- the working class -- is putting off or forgoing marriage altogether.

Researchers found that working-class men and women cited lack of job security, resources and low wages as reasons deterring them from tying the knot.

"Working-class people with insecure work and few resources, little stability and no ability to plan for a foreseeable future become concerned with their own survival and often become unable to imagine being able to provide materially and emotionally for others," lead researcher Sarah Corse -- an associate professor of sociology at the University of Virginia, in Charlottesville -- told The Telegraph. "Insecure work changes peoples' non-work lives."

Researchers also noted that middle-class people were able to invest more time and money into their relationships through things like therapy sessions and date nights, whereas working-class Americans were not.

The not-yet-published study, entitled "Intimate Inequalities: Love and Work in a Post-Industrial Landscape," was presented Tuesday at the annual meeting of the American Sociological Association in New York. Researchers interviewed 300 working- and middle-class Americans to gauge how their job status played into their relationships.

7 Reasons Your Honeymoon May Not Be As Romantic As You'd Think

Honeymoon Stories
Don't get me wrong; I loved my honeymoon. There was plenty of romance to be had as we did nothing but lay on the beach, eat so much that my cute honeymoon clothes were snug by day three, sleep 10 or 11 hours a night, and repeatedly engage in that other thing all honeymooners do as if they won't be sharing a bed when they resume living in reality. Still, we and some of our friends have encountered some less-than-romantic surprises for which it's worth mentally preparing.

1. Outdoor showers are a logistical nightmare.
So your honeymoon resort boasts luxurious showers that make you one with nature. What could go wrong? Well, when I bathed in our outdoor stall, the curtains around it blew wide open with every minuscule gust of wind. This wouldn't be a problem if we were completely secluded, but the next bungalow over had a full view of naked me if they bothered to look. Also, outdoor showers are like magnets for the creepiest, crawliest bugs known to man.

2. Deserted islands aren't known for food safety.
Our resort was fairly top-notch. In fact, it was so pricey, we stayed only six nights because it was all we could afford at age 25! Despite that, the fresh tree melon juice at breakfast or the still-squirming catch of the day at dinner just may make you sick. I had a 24-hour case of food poisoning that left me stationed for hours beside the posh porcelain bowl. And no matter how much you love each other, there is nothing romantic about the runs or vomiting.

3. You're at the mercy of the airplane gods.
Unless you're driving or training to your destination (which have their own share of issues), you'll have to fly to and from your honeymoon. This means you're subject to flight delays, claustrophobia-inducing seats, terror-inducing bathrooms, and, if you're as lucky as Paul and I were on our five-year anniversary trip to Costa Rica, lost baggage. And if you don't book far enough in advance, you may not get to sit next to each other. Fun!

4. You may want to try separate activities.
One spouse's idea of heaven, say, a samurai museum during your Japanese honeymoon, might be the other's hell. To get the most out of your trip, especially if you're in a country you're not likely to visit again, you'll want to check out these regional offerings, even if it means parting ways with your partner for a day. Of course, your eventual reunion would be xoxo-filled, and learning the history of samurais, if that's your thing, would be wonderful, but romantic? Nah.

5. You may get sunburned.
Put pale people in sunny destinations, and no amount of www.newdresses.co.uk can stop skin from turning red. And you know what's painfully unromantic? Sleeping in a bizarre position so that the bed doesn't irritate your sunburned back or arm or leg. Been there. Burned that.

6. You WILL check social media to see your friends' wedding pictures.
And you WILL get an IM from your mom wanting to know about the flight, the food, and pretty much everything else to ensure her that you're safe and happy. No matter how much you love your mother, nothing kills the mood faster than speaking to a blood relative.

7. Jetlag sucks.
If you're flying out of your timezone, you may experience that uncomfortable, almost inhuman too-tired-to-function-but-don't-want-to-waste-a-minute-of-the-trip feeling. Getting ready to go out for the evening when you're usually sleeping. Steak when you'd normally eat breakfast. It makes you feel so off-kilter that sex and snuggling aren't on your mind. With any luck, you'll feel jetlagged only on the way back...when you have to return to work where sex and snuggling aren't options anyway.

Wedding Food Trends For Fall 2013

While couples in years past may have been content to serve a standard chicken-or-beef wedding menu, today's pairs are opting for customized, gourmet food and drink at their celebrations.

Amy Shey Jacobs, founder of Chandelier Events, stopped by HuffPost Live this week to discuss the biggest food trends at fall weddings. She said that because couples are paying more attention to what they're serving, she's seeing a lot more "farm-to-fork" foods from local farms, family-style meals where everyone shares from a platter, and small plates instead of a standard sit-down meal.

"Sometimes instead of doing a traditional three-course meal, we're seeing five, six, seven courses or 'roaming' meals [where guests can walk around and graze]," she said.

Jacobs also said that comfort foods are still a huge wedding trend, but now she's seeing cronuts, donuts with dipping sauces, mac and cheese, sliders, and other one-bite foods, such as mini pretzel buns, on fall wedding menus.

Channing Tatum, Wife Jenna Dewan's Marriage Secret Is To 'Be Honest'

Channing Tatum, Wife Jenna Dewan's Marriage
What's Channing Tatum's secret to a happy marriage?

In an interview in Cosmopolitan's July issue, the actor revealed that he and his wife of almost four years, Jenna Dewan-Tatum, keep their marriage strong by being honest about how they feel about each other.

"You have to want [the marriage to work]. Jenna's and my thing is checking in with each other all the time, like 'On a scale from one to 10, how much do you love me right now?' And you gotta be honest, and you've got to want an honest answer," Tatum said. "I told a friend to do that. He asked the question and it turned into a huge fight, and I'm like, that's kind of the point."

Tatum and Dewan-Tatum met on the set of "Step Up" in 2005 and married in Malibu, Calif. in July 2009. Dewan is currently pregnant with their first child.

Hugh Jackman's Marriage: 'Wolverine' Star Reveals His Biggest Marriage Secrets

Hugh Jackman's Marriage
Hugh Jackman has been married to actress Deborra-Lee Furness for 17 years, and the star recently opened up about how he popped the question and the secrets to their lasting marriage.

In an interview published in Good Housekeeping's August 2013 issue, Jackman said that after meeting on set in 1995, he and Furness were "best mates... We just clicked." A little more than three months later, he popped the question by setting up a table with croissants and flowers next to a lake at a botanical garden, and took her there during a morning walk.

"Deb just stopped and said, 'Oh, my God, it's gorgeous,' " he said. "And I whispered in her ear, 'Surprise.'" After Jackman popped the question, a group of schoolgirls who had been watching asked what Furness' response was. "Deb stood on top of the table and called out, 'I said yes!'"

Since marrying in 1996, Jackman said he and Furness have maintained a rule to not be apart from each other for more than two weeks at a time, and said they "talk about everything all the time."

"The bedrock of any relationship is to communicate, and Deb and I have always done that, discussing whatever's going on, good or bad," he said.

And what's Jackman's number one rule for romance? Surprise.

"If I bring Deb flowers every Tuesday, yeah, it's nice, but is it romantic?" Jackman said. "[Recently], I pretended I was still on the set. I called Deb and said, 'I'll be back late tonight.'" But he showed up hours before she expected him home. "And she got such a shock. I'd made reservations at our favorite lunch place. It was three hours before the kids finished school, and it was awesome because it was unplanned."

Jackman and Furness are the parents of two adopted children. They recently appeared on Australia's "60 Minutes" together, where Furness described Jackman's gay rumors as "annoying" and said her husband is "pretty close to perfect."
